Biography

Carlos Alberto Vives Restrepo (Santa Marta, Magdalena, 7 de agosto de 1961) es un cantante, actor y compositor colombiano. Es reconocido en América Latina y otras partes del mundo por mezclar música colombiana como el vallenato y la cumbia con pop y rock. Ha sido ganador de un Premio Grammy y siete veces ganador del premio Grammy Latino. Vives, posee el récord de mayor número de nominaciones al Grammy Latino. Con más de 6 gramófonos en su haber, Vives fue el primer colombiano galardonado con un Grammy de la Academia Americana de la grabación. En España ganó el gran premio Barcelonés Ondas y en dos oportunidades el premio Amigo, entregado por el Principado de Asturias.
